I Get Lonely 05:09
Anytime you see me crying don't think I'm losing control It’s just a way to release the tension, that’s pent up inside of me I get lonely like any other man I get lonely like any other man I carry my cross like any other man If you see me on the corner, looking so low, come on over That’s when I need someone to be my friend You say that’s the price you pay, cos of what you did was so wrong I’m feeling the loneliness it brings, so be my friend I get lonely like any other man I get lonely like any other man I carry my cross like any other man Anytime you see me crying don't think I'm losing control It’s just a way to release the tension that’s pent up inside of me I get lonely like any other man I get lonely like any other man I carry my cross like any other man

It's raining again And I am standing at the window Looking outside Watching the rain drops The kids are out side Playing in the water Mum shouting out Come in from the rain It’s raining again See the people run for cover Running running for cover Pitter patter, pitter patter on my window pane Pitter patter, pitter patter on my window pane It's raining it’s raining it's raining It’s raining it’s raining it’s raining It's raining again it’s raining It’s raining again it’s raining Pitter patter pitter patter on my window pane Pitter patter pitter patter on my window pane

Now it seems we’re drifting apart, those blues come around It's seems you’re melting my heart I can't hold back the tears It's been a long time we’ve been together don’t want to lose you babe Loneliness can be such a drag come on back to me girl I will promise you I will treat you better don't want to lose you babe Give me one chance don't walk out can't you see I'm On my Knees On my Knees

You know sometimes it can get so hard that it can hurt you It’s people like you I don't need to phone unless you want me Sometimes you know I can't like you cos deep down I'm crying Late at night when you’re silent and you sit here I lie awake I say baby come home when you’re all alone all this loneliness Sometimes it can get so cold on a hot summer’s day Late at night when you’re silent and you sit here I lie awake I said baby come home when you’re all alone that loneliness Sometimes I lay here wide awake but deep down I'm crying

I don't know I can’t handle this situation It’s weighing heavy on my mind A man’s got to know Where he stands with his woman You can't just keep him on a line Ain't it funny The times we had was good I'm burning up for you baby You see what you’re doing to me Endless nights I spend all alone Waiting for you to call This situation Is weighing heavy on my mind You play with me like a toy My mumma told me My mumma said I'm burning up for you baby You see what you’re doing to me I’m burning (up for you) Yes I’m burning (up for you) You see (it’s up to you) You see (it’s up to you) Up for you up for you baby What you’re doing. What you’re doing to me Up for you up for you baby What you’re doing. What you’re doing to me

Me and the boys take a ride down to the boozer Doing some drinking tonight to loosen up a loser Listen to my favourite riffs and songs I like to rock to Flirting with a girl or two and taken her home and use her Lightnin’ Man Lightnin’ Man Lightnin’ Man Lightnin’ Man After the show we will take a ride in the moonlight With the booze and music in my head riding til the sunlight Get in home at eight o'clock and going to bed till six Round about nine in the evening playing crazy again Lightnin’ Man Lightnin’ Man Lightnin’ Man Lightnin’ Man man man man Getting home at eight o'clock and going to bed till six (ha ha) Round about nine in the evening playing crazy again Listening to my favourite riffs and songs I like to rock to Flirting with a girl or two taking her home and use her Lightnin’ Man Lightnin’ Man Lightnin’ Man Lightnin’ Man man man man Lightnin’ Man, Lightnin’ Man (you know what I mean babe) Lightnin’ Man, Lightnin Man

I try my best to keep the feeling that’s burning inside of me And but sometimes I am fighting back chasing all the things I believe in Just me and my guitar and a few chords and I play a song or two to you When the Blues has got me and I’m in the mood I will play that mood and play it just for you And it's Rock n Roll and toast n coffee I will never change it for anything you got And it's Rock n Roll and toast n coffee I will never change it change it anyway I walk the same road and play the same towns and I hear the kids as they’re shouting out my name When I stand on stage and play my music and I see your faces when you’re bopping away Oh my heart it’s filled with joy you make me happy I’m so glad to say Haven't got a lot but what you give to me you make a guy like me don't know what to say Just me and my guitar and a few chords and I’ll play a song or two to you When the blues has got me and I’m in the mood I will play that mood and play it just for you And it’s Rock n Roll and toast n coffee I would never change it for anything you got And it’s Rock n Roll and toast n coffee I would never change it change it anyway And it’s Rock n Roll and toast n coffee I will never change it for anything you got And it’s Rock n Roll and toast n coffee I will never change it change it anyway

I have been running ever since I was 16 Taking the highway is my dream Like the stars in the heaven above I am changing the things I need Sometimes I get so lonely That my mind plays tricks on me I think of you day by day But the highway’s got control of my brain But my heart is so heavy With the burden I carry Losing out on you Alright When it rains it really pours I get a chill right down to my bones Do I feel like I am losing my way I’ve got to keep my spirit up and moving Sunny days will come again And I will be running running But my heart is so heavy With the burden I carry Losing out on you Alright But my heart is so heavy With the burden I carry Losing out on you But my heart is so heavy With the burden I carry Losing out on you

about

Born out of the ashes of Shader, On My Knees was the first and eventually only album to be released by Bloodshot Eyes back in 1984. This self released album which was released on Flat Bee Records eventually went on to become a very much sought after collectors item with copies changing hands for over £1000, one actually selling for £1355!!

Given the cult status that the album acquired among collectors, George and William were approached in 2019 by German NWOBHM specialists High Roller Records who enquired about making the album available again with a full CD and vinyl reissue. The fruits of that labour are now available here.

There was to be another album, Bad Blood, that was scheduled to follow On My Knees but it never got released due to the band splitting up for a second time. The album was eventually shelved indefinitely. Thanks to High Roller Records, Bad Blood has now been issued and is also available on Bandcamp. The two bonus tracks at the end of the album are Bad News Blues and Banging Like A Shit House Door. These two songs were the A and B sides of the self released single by Shader on their own Piston Broke Label.
